Election Day in Fort Worth: Polls Open 7 to 7, and Tarrant Voters Can Vote Anywhere in the County (Fort Worth Stockyards News)

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026, and polls across Fort Worth and Tarrant County will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Any voter who is in line at 7 p.m. when the polls close will still be allowed to vote, so arriving before the cutoff matters more than arriving early in the day.

Tarrant County uses countywide polling on Election Day. That means a registered Tarrant County voter does not have to vote only at an assigned precinct location and may vote at any polling location in the county. For many Fort Worth residents, the most convenient stop may be near work, near school, or near home, and all of those choices count the same.

Texas requires photo identification at the polls. Voters may present one of seven approved forms: a Texas driver license, a Texas Election Identification Certificate, a Texas personal identification card, a Texas handgun license, a U.S. military identification card with a photo, a U.S. citizenship certificate with a photo, or a U.S. passport. An expired ID can still be used if it expired no more than four years ago, and for voters 70 and older an expired approved ID may be used regardless of how long ago it expired.

Voters who cannot reasonably obtain one of the seven forms of photo ID have another path. They may sign a Reasonable Impediment Declaration at the polling place and show a supporting form of identification, such as a utility bill, a bank statement, or their voter registration certificate. Early voting in Texas ended on Friday, October 30, so Election Day is the remaining opportunity to cast a ballot in person.

Before leaving, voters can confirm polling locations and check what is on their ballot through VoteTexas.gov, the state's official voter information site. Planning the trip, bringing the right ID, and allowing extra time for lines are the simplest steps Fort Worth voters can take to make Election Day go smoothly.
